From filling out (many) VicRoads forms, the two main elements assessed during a Visual Driving exam are visual acuity and functional peripheral vision. If you’ve ever taken your glasses off and thought, “my eyes have gotten worse,” you’re not alone. We hear this all the time.
But your glasses are not the problem.
Glasses do not weaken your eyes or make them dependent. They simply give you clear, comfortable vision. What actually changes is your brains standard of “clear vision”.

Not everyone needs supplements for macular health. There’s a very specific group of patients who actually benefit. The original Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS) and the follow up AREDS2 trial showed that high dose antioxidant supplements can reduce the risk of progression by about 25 percent in people with intermediate dry macular degeneration (AMD), or late disease in one eye.
